Your timeshare contract matters, but it may not answer every question. The written agreement may include financing terms, cancellation language, dispute procedures, maintenance fee obligations, or arbitration clauses.

Still, many timeshare issues come from what happened before the contract was signed. If you were promised easy booking, investment value, rental income, resale value, or a simple way out later, those facts may matter too.

4. Be Careful About Buying More Points

One common pattern is simple. You complain that you cannot use the timeshare, and the company tells you the solution is to buy more points.

If you are already questioning the contract, do not sign another one just because a salesperson says it will fix the problem.
